Saudi Arabia Commits $58.7bn to Its Transmission Backbone Through 2030
Saudi Electricity Company has committed up to $58.7 billion to its transmission and distribution networks between 2025 and 2030, with $36 billion of that directed at the transmission backbone alone. The programme adds roughly 14,000 kilometres of line and 130 high-voltage substations, and pushes the kingdom toward a 160,000-kilometre network with nine new HVDC interconnections.
